IO Shield Issues

Unfortunately, the latest batch of IO Shields has had issues with the LED 7-segment digits having shorts making some segments not work properly. If you've recently ordered one and have issues, please contact us at support@embeddedmicro.com for a replacement. The issue with these boards has been reso...

Re: Feedback requested: Simple 7-Segment LED Chaser (VHDL, Verilog, and Lucid)

That line "rotates" the bits instead of shifting them. So the MSB becomes the LSB and all the other bits are shifted. It'll work identically to a shift if the MSB is 0, but when it is a 1, the LSB will become 1. So 100000 becomes 000001. This makes your check for this special case unnecess...

Re: Using an || in a case statement

This isn't currently supported but is obviously really useful. I'll add this to our proposed features.

Re: Problem with IO Shield & sample code

Please contact us again. We found out that the last batch of IO Shields had a terrible yield. It's been corrected and we're fully testing all the shields.

I'm really sorry for the issue and we will get a new shield out to you ASAP once you contact us (support@embeddedmicro.com)

Re: WS2812B on Mojo Lucid and No viable alternative

I recently used these in a project (and am working on a bigger project using a ton of them) Here's my module. It assumes a 50MHz clock. Adjust the ctr.q compare values if you change the clock frequency. module ws2812b #( PIXEL_COUNT = 10 : PIXEL_COUNT > 0 )( input clk, // clock input rst, // reset i...

Re: Spartan 7

I need to figure out Vivado as well but I'm sure we'll have some basic tutorials on getting setup and working though a project. While it seems to be an improvement over ISE in many ways it has its own weird interface quirks.

Re: HDMI Shield Availability

Man this is taking a while...

I talked to our assembler yesterday and they have made it though SMT and are having the headers soldered now. We should have some in hand this week.

Re: bug: IO Shield Demo

Thanks for all your work looking into this! The short is likely more a solder paste stencil/reflow temperature issue than clearance. We've had a few boards returned with similar shorts that weren't caused by the displays touching but hair thin bridging on the PCB. You can try heating up the pads wit...

Re: Installer/Launcher for Mono on Linux/Ubuntu

We don't have specific instructions to install it on Linux. You can just place the folder you downloaded somewhere you like. I put mine in "/opt/Mojo IDE" and run it from there. Note that you should scope the Linux section on the Mojo Loader page for how to setup the udev rules https://emb...
